Stichting Brabant Maatjes
At Stichting Brabant Maatjes, our mission is deeply rooted in the personal experience of founder Bryan Vreijsen, who has fought against long-term loneliness. He understands better than anyone how paralyzing and isolating it can be and found support through our foundation to step out of that loneliness. Now, we are committed to supporting and guiding others in similar situations because we believe that no one should have to be alone. Stichting Brabant Maatjes is an ANBI-recognized organization dedicated to making a real difference.

BBB Noord-Brabant
“BBB Noord-Brabant is a part of the political party ‘BoerBurgerBeweging’ (BBB) and is working in de province of Noord-Brabant. BBB is an initiative by Caroline van der Plas, Wim Groot Koerkamp, and Henk Vermeer, emerging from #BoerBurgerTweet, a social media platform with approximately 20,000 followers on Facebook and 12,000 followers on Twitter. Each week, a farmer, gardener, or fisher shares insights about their daily activities and the passion with which they carry out their work in the barn, greenhouse, at sea, or in the fields through #BoerBurgerTweet.
This initiative meets a significant need, as citizens are becoming increasingly disconnected from food production. The days when every resident of the Netherlands had a connection to farming are long gone. Urban dwellers have little to no contact with rural areas, often forming a negative image of the agricultural sector due to one-sided reporting from left-leaning media. The agricultural sector is also under scrutiny in education, with a drastic decrease in the percentage of children from farming backgrounds in schools, resulting in a lack of nuanced understanding.
With BBB, Caroline, Wim, and Henk have sown the seeds for a different narrative—one that acknowledges the immense economic value of the agricultural sector, with sustainability, environmental protection, and animal welfare at its core.”
For BBB Noord-Brabant I write the newsletters, invitations and help with creative content.

overijsselse Agrarische Jongeren Contact
The Overijssel Agricultural Youth Contact is an association for young people interested in the agricultural sector. The association has over 450 members, spread across ten local chapters. The OAJK stands for connection and advocacy, organizing activities for its members and maintaining contacts with organizations active in the agricultural sector and politics. After all, the province of Overijssel benefits from an attractive rural landscape.
The number of farmers in the Netherlands is declining sharply, which causes great concern for the OAJK. Therefore, the association is committed to the position of young farmers. How can we work together to ensure that young farmers want to take over the family business? It is crucial that as many young agriculturalists and those interested in agriculture as possible are affiliated with the OAJK, so that the association understands the needs and concerns of this group. OAJK members collectively advocate for the position of young farmers and want policymakers to consider not only the farmers of today but also those of the future.
For the OAJK, it is important to represent the diversity of agriculture. Anyone living in Overijssel with a connection to the agricultural sector is warmly welcome to join the OAJK.
